Blake, a Music Drama in 4 acts: music by H. Leslie Adams (1932-); libretto by Daniel Mayers (1933-88).
 

Blake tells the story of young love, forced separation, and the search to find one another and true love.

 

On May 5th, 2006 excerpts from Blake were performed by the New York City Opera Company in its VOX Showcase.  Leading singers were Donita Volkwijn as Miranda, Jennifer Roderer as Isabella, Matthew Burns as Ballard and Robert Mack as Blake.  The New York City Opera Orchestra was under the direction of Brian Garman.

April 9, 2008 - Art Songs and Piano Music. Maria Corley, piano; Guest Artist Countertenor Darryl Taylor. Georgia Katsourides, Kirstin Potteiger, Teresa Walker Jasmine Morrow, and Debra Lenssen, sopranos; Jonathan Kauffman, tenor; Nyemah Wisseh, Jeffrey Gemmel, baritones.  Music Department Recital; Lyte Auditorium; Millersville University, Lancaster PA.

March 19, 2008 - Metropolitan Opera Mezzo Soprano Denyce Graves in a concert that featured Composer's art songs. At Glucksterns' in SoHo, New York City. [Proceeds going to AIDS Foundation.]

June 10, 2008 - Composer's work featured on new CD entitled, "With a Song In My Heart." Gerald Blanchard, baritone. Blue Griffin Records, BGR 117.
